Shower trays often crack due to thermal movement in the house or when not installed properly. We can supply and fit high quality resin or resin-capped shower trays, which are much better then thin plastic models.
The Process: Refitting shower trays is no small job. First of all the cubicle frame and doors are removed. Then, on most occasions, the bottom row of tiles sitting on the shower tray have to be taken off. This is because there is usually a tray upstand that is located behind those tiles.
If the tiles are bonded to plasterboard, this will also need replacing, as the paper face is damaged very easily. The shower tray can now be removed and the new shower tray installed. The waste pipe usually needs altering and a new trap is always fitted as standard practice. New plasterboard is fitted and the bottom row tiles are reinstated. The tiles are grouted, the shower cubicle is reinstalled and all edges are sealed with good quality silicon to ensure a waterproof finish.
